The road from Cairo to Dahab

It is about 550 km and takes roughly 7 to 8 hours: Cairo to Suez, through the Ahmed Hamdi tunnel under the Suez Canal, then the South Sinai road towards Sharm El Sheikh and on to Dahab.

It is a long drive, so an early start is best. The driver stops on the way for rest, food and prayer whenever you need.

There are checkpoints on the Sinai roads, so keep a passport or ID card at hand for every passenger.
